Who Can Apply for BeGreen Africa 2025?
The BeGreen Africa Entrepreneurship Program, one of Tony Elumelu Foundation Programs is available to passionate green business owners and entrepreneurs in the following countries:
- Nigeria
- Senegal
- South Africa
- Kenya (specifically for waste management businesses)
Eligibility Requirements:
- Age: You must be between 18 and 35 years old. Your age should be verified with official government identification.
- Green Business Focus: Your idea or existing business must center around sustainability and environmental impact, or it should involve waste management.
- Business Age: For established businesses, the business should be under five years old at the time of application.
- Originality & Ethics: Your business idea must be your own, and it must not engage in illegal or unethical activities.
Key Stages of the BeGreen Africa Program 2025
1. Verification & Onboarding: The journey begins with the submission of required documents for identity verification and business status confirmation. Only applicants who meet the criteria will proceed to the TEF Business Management Training.
Note: If you don’t meet the verification requirements, you’ll be removed from the program but can reapply through TEFConnect for other training and opportunities.
2. Business Plan Preparation & Submission: Once you’ve completed the TEF Business Management Training, you’ll receive a business plan template. This is your chance to develop a comprehensive plan that will be assessed for sustainability, feasibility, and impact. Submit your business plan before the deadline to move to the Pitching Competition.
3. Pitching Competition: Top applicants will pitch their business ideas or plans to a panel of judges. This is where the best ideas stand out, and the most promising entrepreneurs will be selected to receive Seed Capital to bring their vision to life.
4. Seed Capital: Successful entrepreneurs will be awarded seed capital (up to US$5,000 equivalent) via direct electronic transfer. Banking and transaction fees may apply. The seed capital is a valuable asset to take your business to the next level.
