Applications are now open for the 2025 edition of the Google for Startups Accelerator Africa, a virtual accelerator program focused on supporting growth-stage tech startups from across the continent. The program is designed to help startups scale their solutions through mentorship, product support, and technical training, all at no cost and without equity requirements.
About the Program
The Google for Startups Accelerator Africa is part of Google’s global accelerator series. Now in its 8th cohort, the initiative targets startups that are solving real-world challenges using technology. The accelerator focuses on startups in sectors such as:
- Financial Technology (Fintech)
- Health
- Education (Edtech)
- Agriculture (Agritech)
- Sustainability
- Mobility and Logistics
- E-commerce
What Selected Startups Will Gain
Startups accepted into the program will receive:
- Personalized mentorship from Google teams and external industry experts
- Access to Google products and technical resources, including Cloud credits
- Product strategy guidance and UX support
- Support on scaling strategies and fundraising readiness
- Connections to a global network of fellow founders, experts, and investors
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, startups must:
- Be based in Africa
- Be building a scalable tech-enabled product
- Have a working product and early traction (Seed to Series A stage)
- Have at least one full-time founder based on the continent
- Demonstrate a clear business model and growth potential
