Tony Elumelu Foundation BeGreen Africa Entrepreneurship Program 2025

    • January 29, 2025
    Tony Elumelu Foundation Program 2025

The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) is thrilled to introduce the BeGreen Africa Entrepreneurship Program 2025, a transformative initiative designed to empower young, innovative entrepreneurs in Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, and Kenya.

This program supports green businesses and waste management startups aiming to drive positive environmental impact across Africa. If you’re between 18 and 35 years old and passionate about sustainability, this program is your opportunity to gain world-class business training, pitch for seed capital, and accelerate your green business toward success.

What’s New About BeGreen Africa Program 2025?

In 2025, BeGreen Africa is more than just an entrepreneurial program—it’s a chance to change the game for green businesses in Africa. Whether you’re a founder of a waste management company or have a groundbreaking green business idea, TEF is offering you the platform to make a lasting impact on both the environment and your community.

Who Can Apply for BeGreen Africa 2025?

The BeGreen Africa Entrepreneurship Program, one of Tony Elumelu Foundation Programs is available to passionate green business owners and entrepreneurs in the following countries:

    • Nigeria
    • Senegal
    • South Africa
    • Kenya (specifically for waste management businesses)

    Eligibility Requirements:

    • Age: You must be between 18 and 35 years old. Your age should be verified with official government identification.
    • Green Business Focus: Your idea or existing business must center around sustainability and environmental impact, or it should involve waste management.
    • Business Age: For established businesses, the business should be under five years old at the time of application.
    • Originality & Ethics: Your business idea must be your own, and it must not engage in illegal or unethical activities.

Key Stages of the BeGreen Africa Program 2025

    1. Verification & Onboarding: The journey begins with the submission of required documents for identity verification and business status confirmation. Only applicants who meet the criteria will proceed to the TEF Business Management Training.

Note: If you don’t meet the verification requirements, you’ll be removed from the program but can reapply through TEFConnect for other training and opportunities.

    2. Business Plan Preparation & Submission: Once you’ve completed the TEF Business Management Training, you’ll receive a business plan template. This is your chance to develop a comprehensive plan that will be assessed for sustainability, feasibility, and impact. Submit your business plan before the deadline to move to the Pitching Competition.

    3. Pitching Competition: Top applicants will pitch their business ideas or plans to a panel of judges. This is where the best ideas stand out, and the most promising entrepreneurs will be selected to receive Seed Capital to bring their vision to life.

    4. Seed Capital: Successful entrepreneurs will be awarded seed capital (up to US$5,000 equivalent) via direct electronic transfer. Banking and transaction fees may apply. The seed capital is a valuable asset to take your business to the next level.

Important Dates: The deadline for application submission is March 1st, 2025. Make sure to apply before this date for a chance to participate in this groundbreaking initiative.

    Why Apply?
